Two bedrooms, four beds' worth of space

The two bedroom rooms have a queen bed in each of two separate bedrooms, one bathroom, and a living and dining area with a kitchen. There are three of them and the largest is around 80 square metres. For four people it usually costs less than two separate rooms.

If there are three of you, the queen and single room has a queen and a single bed in the one room.

The kitchen

Cooktop, rangehood, fridge, microwave and a Nespresso coffee machine, with a dining table. It means you can do breakfast in the room rather than finding somewhere every morning. There is also a free shared laundry for the whole complex, which is usually what a week with kids needs.

Two minutes to the beach

Miami Beach is about 200 metres away, so getting down there does not need the car. It is patrolled through the season, so swim between the flags. For younger children, Tallebudgera Creek at the southern end of Burleigh is flat and shallow, about ten minutes south.

What is nearby

• Pizzey Park: four minutes. Playground, aquatic centre, skate park, playing fields.
• Miami Marketta: five-minute walk. Street food, so everyone picks their own.
• Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary: about fifteen minutes south.
• Pacific Fair at Broadbeach: eight minutes, for a wet day.

What we do not have

There is no pool, no restaurant and no reception desk. It is a motel. Check-in is self-service with a digital lock, so a late arrival is not a problem and there is nobody to meet.

Booking

There are only three two bedroom rooms and they go first in Queensland school holidays. Booking direct on this site takes 10% off the nightly rate automatically, and weekly and monthly rates are already priced into longer stays.
