Five minutes north
We are not in Burleigh. We are five minutes north of it, in Miami, on the same stretch of coast.
Miami Motel is at 2117 Gold Coast Highway, Miami, about five minutes’ drive north of Burleigh Heads. All eleven rooms were renovated in 2026 and have a kitchenette with a cooktop and fridge, and there is a free shared laundry on site. Check-in is self-service at any hour and Miami Beach is a two-minute walk. Booking direct takes 10% off the nightly rate automatically.
Burleigh Heads is one of the most sought-after postcodes on the Gold Coast, and it is priced accordingly. Miami is the next suburb north. The beach is the same stretch of sand, the surf comes from the same swell, and the drive to the Burleigh headland takes about five minutes.
What you give up is a five-minute drive. Rooms here were all renovated in 2026 and generally sit below the equivalent inside the Burleigh boundary.
Miami Beach is patrolled and usually less crowded than Burleigh. Miami Marketta runs street food and live music most weekends, five minutes away on foot. The Nobby Beach cafe and dining strip is around the corner.
Eleven rooms, all renovated in 2026, in three types. The studio has a queen bed and a kitchenette and sleeps two. The queen and single room adds a single bed and sleeps three. The two bedroom has a queen in each of two bedrooms and sleeps four.
Check-in is self-service with a digital lock at any hour, which helps if you are driving up from northern New South Wales or landing late at Gold Coast Airport, twenty minutes south.

About five minutes by car, or roughly three kilometres north along the Gold Coast Highway. It is a comfortable cycle and a long but pleasant beach walk at low tide.
Generally yes. Burleigh Heads carries a postcode premium that Miami does not. For most stays you pay less and lose a five-minute drive.
The headland walk through Burleigh Head National Park is the main event, and whales are commonly visible from the lookout between June and October. Beyond that: the James Street dining strip, the Burleigh Farmers Market, Tallebudgera Creek for flat-water swimming, and one of the best point breaks in the country when the swell is right.
Along the sand at low tide, yes. It is a pleasant hour. Most guests drive it in five minutes or ride. There are also buses along the Gold Coast Highway.
